The Safari Experience

Embarking on a jeep safari at Pobitora is a hassle-free process.

Booking for jeep or elephant safari: Safaris can be booked in advance through various tour operators or directly at the sanctuary's entrance. The best times for safaris are early morning and late afternoon when animals are most active. Elephant safaris are operational only in the morning hours. So, if you want to experience both elephant and jeep safaris, opt for an elephant safari in the morning slot and a jeep safari in the afternoon slot.

The duration of safari: The safari typically lasts for about 1 to 1.5 hours, covering the entire zone of the sanctuary. You'll traverse through dense grasslands, muddy tracks, and shallow water bodies, each offering unique wildlife sightings. The elephant safari commences at 6:30 am and operates in two slots of an hour each till 8:30 am. The jeep safari operates in three slots and two slots in morning and evening shifts respectively. The morning jeep safari functions from 7:30 am to 10:30 am and the afternoon jeep safari operates from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
