Great sightings can be done without even going for a jungle safari at Pobitora falls and the rhino
habitat. Before the main gate of the sanctuary, the last couple of kilometers run along the rhino
habitat. Alternatively, you can park your vehicle on the side of the road and watch the rhinos
grazing while you watch the birds flying in and out.

- In the first place, it's important to know that the safari is under the full control and
management of the forest department of Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, which is supported
by the Assam state government.
- In each shift, there is a maximum of 17 Jeeps (6-seaters) and 20 Canters (20-seaters).
- Guests can book the safari online and also visit the official booking counter in Pobitora
one hour before safari booking starts to book same-day safaris. The availability of
bookings or same-day counter bookings is subject to change.
- Tourists can take safaris in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary from 1st October to 30th June,
while July to September is closed due to monsoon season.
- Most safari seats are booked well in advance through online booking. To make the most
of your visit to the Pobitora, it is best to reserve your safari tickets well in advance. An
online safari can be booked up to 365 days in advance.
- The full name of each visitor (as it appears on the ID card) and their photo ID number
must be provided during the online safari booking process. As part of the entry process,
you are required to show the same ID proof to the park officials. The Forest department
reserves the right to cancel your safari booking if the name and ID proof is incorrect or
incomplete.
- A Passport, Driving License, Pan Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, School ID, or any other
Government ID is acceptable as photo ID proof for Indian citizens. Foreign nationals,
however, do not need to provide any photo ID proof other than their passport.
- You are required to enter information at the time of online safari booking such as the
safari date, safari time (morning/afternoon), safari vehicle (Jeep/Canter), and your
boarding location in Pobitora i.e. the name of the hotel, resort, etc.
- You must pay the entire fee in advance for a validated safari permit, which includes park
entrance fees, vehicle fees, and guide fees. The pre-booked and confirmed safari permit is
non-refundable, and non-exchangeable in any situations.
- The vehicles which are registered with the forest department are only allowed to enter the
park for the safari. So, any private vehicle is not permitted in the park in any
circumstance.
