Guwahati is popularly called the Gateway of North-East India. Here’s a 4 days itinerary for Guwahati, Pobitora and Kaziranga.
Day 01: Reach Guwahati
Within or beyond the national borders, you can reach Guwahati by air at Guwahati International Airport and by rail at Guwahati Junction or Kamakhya Junction, the two most important railway stations in Guwahati. Check in to your hotel and after wrapping up the formalities and settling your luggage; begin your sightseeing at Guwahati. Begin with visiting Kamakhya Devi Temple, one of the significant pilgrimage spots for Hindus and among the ancient temple of the 51 shaktipeeths. If you are planning to offer oblations at Kamakhya Temple then save the other sightseeings fir the next day. For the same day, After Kamakya Devi Temple visit the Umananda Island, Assam State Museum, Guwahati Planetarium, Deepor Beel, Guwahati Zoo and Nehru Park. Return to your hotel and stay overnight.
Day 02: Head towards Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary
After breakfast check out from your hotel and drive towards Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary. Leave early in the morning and explore the nature and wilderness of the sanctuary for the entire day. The approximate distance from Guwahati to Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is about 55 km and will take around 2 hours to reach there. The safari starts at 6:30 am in the morning and the last slot continues till 3:00 pm. enjoy the Jeep Safari and Boat Safari. All the safaris slots last for 1 hour. Since the safari closes after 3:00 pm, head back to your hotel at Pobitora to spend the night.
Day 03: Transfer to Kaziranga National Park
Go for the morning elephant safari in Pobitora National Park. Return to your hotel from safari and after breakfast check out to explore Kaziranga National Park. The distance is about 130 km and t will take approximately 3 hours to reach Kaziranga. Check in to a hotel and engage into the local sightseeing. Visit the Kaziranga Orchid and Biodiversity Park, Kakochang Waterfalls and the Tea Gardens. Retreat to your room after the day’s sightseeing. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Day 04: Departure
Go for an early morning elephant ride in the safari zones of Kaziranga National Park, followed the jeep safari. Return to the hotel and check out after breakfast. Move to Guwahati and depart from Guwahati International Airport or Guwahati Junction.
